Continuation on trailer work....

The Master

The accompaniment is the first thing that is noticeable in this teaser trailer as the man banging the desk becomes distinct and almost annoying as its constant throughout the trailer as the banging sound gets faster the clips become more dramatic and guns and fighting are involved. I find this a clever way to get the audience's attention as it is the only thing that is heard. The first thing that the audience are certain of when seeing this trailer is the genre is drama. The plot is not shown too much and is kept quite mysterious and secretive. The audience assume that it is based on politics or some sort of government as the voice over is believed to be a speech possibly set during past times as the language seems to be quite old fashioned. This would lure in the viewers that would enjoy this type of film as a lot has been shown through the first few moments but at the same time has much more to show.

The general trailer is quite slow and almost calm as there is no loud sounds or fast moving shots to show otherwise. unfortunately this type of trailer does not appeal to me and I found it quite boring as I prefer fast moving shots to entertain me and draw me into the cinema to watch the film.

Unlike most films the name of the film is in simple font and did not have a booming sound effect as it was put onto the screen. The writing is small and is simple as if to say it does not need large and over the top effects to create a good film. This shows that the film has class and in some way is posh.

Robocop
This was one of the unique trailers out of the 6 that were given as it was set out as a advert on the television. In a way this is a clever and uncommon way to promote a film as it is not seen very often, but at the same time there is much needed for a trailer that is not used in "Robocop" such as the actual name of the film shown on the screen and a small amount of information for the viewers to feed on. Unfortunately as much I admired the creativity I did not feel that it was a trailer and I felt that it needed more information.

On the other hand I enjoyed the very subtle hint of what may happen in the film when the trailer/advert said "We got the future under control" this implies, to me, that the robots may go wild or that "Robocop" may be a similar film to "Irobot".

Human Centipede part 2

This teaser trailer is set out like a documentary and has got real people made to watch the film and they have filmed their reactions. Throughout the trailer there are catchy quotes that have been said about the film that appear on the screen with a dramatic sound effect.

This almost shows off how horrible the film is and makes the audience want to watch as they feel "they can handle it".

Later on in the trailer lots of quotes are put onto the screen to show that not only one person found it disturbing but many people have thought that this film is horrible. This is aimed to scare the audience and almost reverse psychology as it scares them just enough that they want to watch it just to see how scary it is. After a series of horrified faces it pushes the boundaries further by showing people physically being sick which disturbs the viewers.

After showing the name of the film a series of comments telling the viewers how foul the film must be as it is banned in Britain, cut in the USA but released in Australia. This almost has a subtle boasting to it as if to say "Australia can handle it...can you?". The teaser trailer finishes with a lady walking out as she can't handle the film and the question "has horror gone too far?" While the question appears a sound effect of a baby crying is going on which is seen as creepy.

The Campaign

This trailer is one of my favourites as it made me laugh but at the same time I felt that not all the jokes were given away. When I watched this trailer I felt that even though the film is about running for congress you do not need to know about politics or anything along those lines as it is a comedy. The first thing that seems funny is that the main character seems casual and normal unlike the person he is running against who is in a suit and mean business. Small jokes are made throughout such as "push it, push it real good?".

The clip that made me laugh the most was the clip when the family was around the table talking about the upcoming stress they may come upon from running for congress. The main character asks "Is there anything you wanna share?" the children, being naive, answer funny comments which the whole audience would understand as it is both childlike but funny for the adults as well.

After some catchy sentences are shown on screen a montage of clips of the two campaigns sabotaging each other and trying to please the crowd. This shows the audience how funny the film is and encourages them to watch the whole film.
